Did You vote for this?

Now I like to think that i'm a rational thinker. I even would consider myself to have Left wing views, but willing to listen to those that disagree....
S I'm sat here quietly fuming because (Although I did'nt vote for the current UK government) I am acutely aware that it is doing untold damage to my country and its (sometimes warped) society.
I can't believe that "normal" thinking people can just sit down and  let this government (who they probably voted for) systematically introduce measures that were not made clear at the time of the general election a year or so ago.
Why on earth would anyone vote for Higher taxes on the poorest of people? Why would anyone vote for higher taxes on goods when incomes will be reduced? Why have this government very quietly slipstreamed so many increases in taxation and other measures into this parliamentary session without anyone realising?

Fair enough.

"New Labour" wasnt perfect but I know that I and my family had a far more secure future under that regime than this.

For those of you that can afford a home of their own then the next bit you can skip cos hey you are a homeowner and a product of the Thatcher Era....
But for those who are maybe on a council (Affordable ) housing register you need to sit up and listen, Even if you are lucky enough to secure "social Housing" it is likely to be a tenancy of around 7 years, granted you are not going to be booted out within 7 years but when that tenancy ends boy are you in trouble because the authorities then will be analysing your income and outgoings for that 7 year period and if they deem that you have not saved enough for a deposit on a property you are going to be homeless.Wonderful.....But of course by then everyone will by a private sector employee on the minimum wage so you wont be able to afford a mortgage anyway and so the chain of events begin again.

Very slowly and quietly this goverment is eroding the british constitution.Nobody voted for the changes in the way that the NHS provides services and despite all the inquiries set up by this government (and the responses they got) they are still moving ahead with these irreversibale plans.
The state of the British economy is oft blamed upon the previous Labour Government and its "overspending". However, I dont see other countries that are currently struggling blaming a previous government, I see them basically blaming the Banking System for the woes.
But of course being a Tory means that you cant blame the Bankers for they re the ones who support the Tory government and will continue to do so as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
Not for them will the back door VAT impositions cause any hardship......
I can't understand how, or why a "just" society can let its government get away with what it is doing, especially when the Governments actions are or will affect soooo many of its citizens adversely.
No one should ever rely on state benefits to  survive on a day to day basis, but in todays society it becomes increasingly difficult to survive on a basic salary from the private sector, after all this government is proud that all the jobs that have been lost as a result of its spending cuts in the public sector (for example local authorities dispensing with the need for  some of its groundforce) have been picked up by the private sector companies who take the people on for the same job, but at the minimum wage, sometimes cutting a persons earning power by half....
So that person who has a mortgage now finds themselves in a far worse position than they could have ever thought possible, and they turn to the benefit system for help, except that it's not there anymore because the very Government that they Voted into power to help them has taken it away.
God Bless the DHSS...

And then God took rest.
